The Benefits of a Sober Living Home
From Treatment to Thriving on Your Own
Staying sober, especially at the beginning of recovery, can be incredibly difficult. For many trying to recover, returning home after rehab or a treatment program can be triggering and wind up jeopardizing your sobriety. Recovery requires constant work, motivation, and dedication to wanting to lead a sober life. Taking the necessary steps to safeguard your sobriety is crucial. A sober living home exists to help those in need to get past their struggles and improve their life.
When it comes to getting sober, it is the first 30-90 days after treatment that are the most important for preventing relapse.
At Our New Journey Recovery Homes, we aim to build meaningful relationships with our residents while encouraging them to let go of old negative people, places and things. We encourage developing new healthy habits with those who live recovery that together can help each other to remain clean and sober.
Our goal is to guide and encourage the use of the 12 steps of recovery with a 24-hour plan and to build a solid foundation that ensures one day a resident will make that successful transition from our sober homes to living on their own and returning to their families.
Get the care and attention you need during your recovery and experience the benefits of our sober living homes. There are many great benefits in choosing a sober living home for recovery, especially if you are newly sober. Let’s take a look at some of the most notable benefits of our sober living home.

A Place for Guidance and Support
Strength in Sobriety
When you join our sober living home, you become part of a community that supports your recovery and holds you accountable. You’ll be surrounded by a second family of residents who provide encouragement during challenging times. Our dedicated volunteer house managers, who have been part of the Our New Journey family for years, live on-site to offer guidance and help resolve any issues that arise. Additionally, our owners are available 24/7 for support, assistance, and guidance. They stay actively involved, maintaining daily contact with house managers and attending all weekly house meetings.
Develop Sober Relationships
Leaving sober living can mean facing old environments, people, and triggers. That’s why we focus on fostering meaningful connections among residents who share the same recovery journey.
Here, you’ll meet others who understand your struggles and serve as a strong support network. Everyone in our homes is committed to positive change, and forming sober relationships with like-minded individuals strengthens your recovery—both during your stay and long after. These connections provide a foundation of lasting support.

Ease Your Transition Back into Regular Life
We consistently encourage residents as they grow to develop and maintain service commitments, to help others, to one day be a sponsor. To give back what was freely given to them. Being sober is a life-long process taken one day at a time. Once you leave the sober home you must continue to be dedicated to recovery. Our experiences have proven that perfection in recovery isn’t possible however discipline and consistency is needed for success.
Ultimately, we hope that between your overall stay with us and the work you’ve done and intend to maintain, you will go out into the real world with the skills to remain sober and live productive lives with your families and loved ones.
